Inland Rail – Parkes to Narromine

The Parkes to Narromine (P2N) section the first of 13 projects that complete Inland Rail. Delivered by the InLink JV, the project upgraded 98.4km of existing rail track and built 5.3km of new rail near Parkes, including a full rebuild of the rail tracks, rail formation and supporting structures in the existing rail corridor.

RCS Infrastructure delivered the signalling, construction and testing and commissioning. There were challenges in the delivery of this project, the remote location demanded a high level of logistical planning for both site personnel and materials. Furthermore, the covid-19 pandemic occurred in the critical phase of delivery in 2020 which required innovative problem solving from the team.

The project delivery milestones were achieved on time and budget – proving RCSI to be a reliable signalling delivery partner to major works projects.
